Shortlisted companies invited to bid on St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital redevelopment

On March 10, 2015, Infrastructure Ontario and St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital announced that they had released a request for proposals to companies shortlisted to build and finance the hospital’s Emergency, Ambulatory and Mental Health Redevelopment Project.

The project will result in a three-storey addition to the existing hospital of approximately 104,770 square feet and include redevelopment of the emergency department, surgical suite, Sterile Processing Department and acute mental health unit.

The companies invited to bid are: Bondfield Construction Company Limited, Elite Construction Inc., EllisDon Corporation and Pomerleau Inc. The successful project team is expected to be selected and announced in the fall, with construction to begin shortly after.

Infrastructure Ontario (IO) is a Crown agency of the Province of Ontario that works to deliver public benefits through partnerships with the private sector. IO delivers large, complex public infrastructure projects using a made-in-Ontario modern procurement and project management practice called Alternative Financing and Procurement (AFP).
