Gowling WLG is pleased to announce Cynthia Elderkin as the next managing partner of its Ottawa office, effective Jan. 1, 2024.
A past leader of the Ottawa office's Business Law Group, Cynthia (Cyndy) is highly regarded by clients, colleagues and the industry at large for her in-depth knowledge and experience in commercial and transactional matters.

Outside of her practice, Cyndy actively supports the greater Ottawa community, and over her 35 years plus legal career, has devoted significant time and energy to various organizations and to the community. This includes serving on local professional organizations, boards and community organizations, canvassing for, and participating in activities of, local charities and speaking at various professional and industry events.
Professional development, continuing education and mentoring has been an important focus for Cyndy to help grow the next generation of legal professionals. This commitment to the excellence of others has resulted in Cyndy winning mentorship awards within the firm. Cyndy was also recognized with a "Top 40 Under 40" award for her contributions to the field.
Cyndy has assumed the managing partner position from Wayne Warren, who had led the Ottawa office as managing partner for the last twelve years. During Wayne's tenure, the Ottawa office materially increased its top-line revenue and professional complement, and further diversified its service offerings in support of the local, national and international market sectors and clients that it serves.
