On March 10, 2017, Newell Brands Inc. completed the sale of its tools business to Stanley Black & Decker in a USD$1.95-billion transaction. The tools business includes brands Irwin, Lenox and Hilmor.

Stanley Black & Decker is a diversified global provider of hand tools, power tools and related accessories, electronic security solutions, healthcare solutions, engineered fastening systems, and more.

Newell Brands is a leading global consumer goods company with a strong portfolio of well-known brands, including Paper Mate, Sharpie, Elmer's, Coleman, Oster, Sunbeam, Rubbermaid and Yankee Candle.
