27 April 2016

France Tenaille, a Toronto-based business law partner at Gowling WLG and co-leader of the firm's Latin America team, has been ranked by Latinvex as one of the top 100 female lawyers specializing in Latin America among international law firms.

Fluent in Spanish and called to the Bar in both Canada and Venezuela — where she practised civil law for more than five years — Tenaille is known for her in-depth understanding of Latin America's legal system and unique business environment and cultural traditions.

With a strong background in M&A, capital markets and project finance, she advises Canadian and international clients on a wide range of Latin American matters, including cross-border transactions in the region's energy and mining sectors. This is the third year in which Latinvex has ranked Tenaille among the world's top female lawyers focused on Latin America.

Listees were selected for inclusion in Latin America's Top 100 Female Lawyers 2016 based on recent activity on major deals and other commercial work, their firm's prominence in Latin America, and rankings in the legal industry's leading directories, including Chambers Global and The Legal 500.

Known as a key source of Latin American news and analysis, Latinvex provides extensive and unique coverage of Latin American business, countries and people, with a focus on the legal, technology and energy industries.
