An analysis of Ontario's new Not-For-Profit Corporation Act Bill 65
1
Ontario’s Bill 65, the Not-For-Profit Corporations Act, 2010 (the “New Act” or the “Bill”) was recently introduced, as expected after the Province’s consultations with the not-for-profit sector over the course of several years and the passage of the Canada Not-For-Profit Corporations Act, 2009 last year. Rather than providing a reworded summary, this bulletin aims to explore some of the changes from the Ontario Corporations Act (the “Current Act”) regime, which most Ontario not-for profit corporations are subject to and differences between the New Act and the federal Canada Not-For-Profit Corporations Act, 20091.
