Ruth Griffin named 'Private Practice Lawyer of the Year' at the Legal Business Awards 2023
Gowling WLG partner Ruth Griffin has been named 'Private Practice Lawyer of the Year' at the Legal Business Awards 2023.
The 26th annual Legal Business Awards showcase and celebrate the very best in the legal profession. The 'Private Practice Lawyer of the Year' award recognises truly exceptional individual contribution to the legal profession and extraordinary performance which stands out among peers.
Ruth claims the prestigious award this year for her leading role in helping to deliver the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games (B2022), as part of the Gowling WLG's role as Official Legal Advisers to and sponsors of B2022. She is also recognised for her work as a member of one the UK's leading construction and engineering practices, and her commitment to CSR and charity partner work as a champion for legal sector impact on wider community and professional causes.

An awards evening to remember, Gowling WLG was also named as finalists in two further categories this year.
Our Corporate team was shortlisted for the 'Corporate Team of the Year' award for advisory to Aurrigo International plc, a leading international provider of transport technology solutions, on its successful placing and admission to trading on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange.
Meanwhile, Gowling WLG's Corporate Communications team was shortlisted in the 'Marketing Initiative of the Year' category for their programme of activity to engage our people, clients and communities as part of the firm's role as Official Legal Advisers to and sponsors of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.
