Gowling WLG is pleased to welcome Raman Johal as a partner in the firm's national Private Client Services Group. She will be based in our Vancouver office.

Raman joins the firm with extensive experience helping individuals, financial institutions and charities alike resolve complex – and frequently contentious – estate matters. Her practice encompasses estate planning, accountings, elder law, undue influence and incapacity claims, and wills variation matters and property claims, among other areas.

"Pragmatic, methodical and highly protective of her clients' interests, Raman promises to be an exceptional addition to our firm's private client team in Vancouver," said Brent Kerr, managing partner of Gowling WLG's Vancouver office.

Over the course of her 14-year career, Raman has remained active within Canada's estates community. She is the past chair of the CBA Wills & Trusts Vancouver subsection, and she continues to contribute regularly to the Continuing Legal Education Society of British Columbia Estate Planning and Wealth Preservation Manual, the BC Probate and Estate Administration Practice Manual and the Canadian Association of Gift Planner's Executors' Guide. Raman is also a member of the Insurance Bureau of Canada P&C Decision Panel and a past chair of the CBA, BC Insurance subsection.
