Gowling WLG has been re-appointed to Crown Commercial Service's Legal Services Panel
Gowling WLG has been named as a supplier on Crown Commercial Service's (CCS) Legal Services Panel on Lot 1 - the General Legal Advice Services (GLAS). The Legal Services Panel framework will be worth up to £330 million.
The full-service three-year appointment, with the option to extend, sees Gowling WLG named as one of 12 suppliers on Lot 1 of the framework - the GLAS. The significant appointment will see the firm provide specialist legal services to CCS's central government bodies.
All lot firms are required to cover mandatory specialisms, including contracts, dispute resolution and litigation, employment law, information law and data protection law, public procurement law, real estate and real estate finance.
CCS supports the public sector to achieve maximum commercial value when procuring common goods and services. In 2020/21, CCS helped the public sector to achieve commercial benefits equal to £2.04bn - supporting world-class public services that offer best value for taxpayers.
The new framework replaces the existing panel and is effective from December 2021. Under the new framework, CCS has established a panel of full service commercial law firms to provide central government bodies with support for significant projects, disputes and initiatives, and general advice within specialist sectors.
Michael Luckman, partner and head of the Government sector team at Gowling WLG, said: "We are extremely proud to have been re-appointed to CCS's Legal Services Panel. Earning a place on the framework builds our strong track record of delivering high quality legal services to central government and the wider public sector. We look forward to supporting government bodies with legal support over the next years."
