
Bio
Alec Verch is a manager of legal talent for student programs at Gowling WLG. In this role, Alec oversees all aspects of the summer and articling student programs in the firm’s Toronto office, including recruitment, performance management, and professional development.
Alec is deeply committed to mentorship and the development of emerging legal talent. He is particularly passionate about supporting students as they navigate the transition from law school to practice, and strives to foster an inclusive environment where students feel supported and equipped to succeed.
Prior to joining Gowling WLG, Alec was an associate at a leading Canadian litigation firm, where he maintained a broad civil litigation practice encompassing complex commercial disputes and professional liability and regulatory matters. He holds a JD from the Lincoln Alexander School of Law at Toronto Metropolitan University, and an Honours bachelor degree in Global and International Studies from Carleton University.
