David A. Campbell

David Campbell is a partner in Gowling WLG's Toronto office with a transactional-based practice focused predominantly on private equity fund formation and investments, private mergers and acquisitions (M&A), corporate finance, reorganizations and general commercial matters.

His clients include institutional investors, private equity funds, venture capital funds, strategic purchasers and start-ups across a number of industries.

David has considerable experience in the following areas:

• Structuring private equity funds and investments
• Negotiating complex purchase and sale transactions
• Structuring joint venture arrangements
• Preparing limited partnership and shareholder agreements
• Implementing tax reorganizations and negotiating commercial agreements
• Strategically advising emerging companies, including in respect of governance and financing matters (equity, convertible debenture and preferred share financings)

Outside of his legal practice, David volunteers as a director of Neighbourhood Information Post, a grassroots charitable organization serving the Regent Park and Moss Park neighbourhoods in Toronto. In the past, David has volunteered with the George Hull Centre for Children and Families.

David loves to travel, and in his spare time enjoys walking his dogs and cycling.
