
Bio
Lauren Ibbott is a summer law student in Gowling WLG’s Calgary office.
Lauren is currently pursuing a juris doctor at the University of Saskatchewan. While at the U of S College of Law, Lauren participates in both the Women in Law and the Just Rights clubs and enjoys being involved in the student community. Before law school, Lauren received her psychology degree with distinction from the University of Calgary, where she was named to the Dean’s List for three years. During her time at U of C, Lauren volunteered with the Student Wellness Centre, providing peer support to students navigating academic and personal challenges, where her desire to help others was first put into practice.
Beyond academics, Lauren has been actively involved on the pitch in both soccer and rugby. Lessons developed in team dynamics while driving for success remain a strong input to everything she takes on and continue to shape her collaborative approach in academic and professional settings. Lauren has also spent many hours giving back to the unhoused at the Calgary Mustard Seed. When not reading law textbooks, Lauren is an avid reader of many genres of contemporary fiction and enjoys exploring new books and authors.
Lauren’s path to law began through a desire to help others and a strong interest in problem-solving. She currently has an interest in corporate, energy, intellectual property law, particularly as these areas continue to evolve, but remains open to exploring the breadth of legal opportunities.
