Dr Lars-Gerrit Luessmann

Dr Lars-Gerrit Luessmann heads the German practice of Gowling WLG.

He has more than 20 years of experience in providing legal and strategic advice to companies and entrepreneurs, investors and financial institutions, particularly in the areas of corporate acquisitions, public takeovers and capital markets transactions. He advises family-owned businesses as well as management and supervisory boards on corporate governance matters, for example in the areas of corporate governance and corporate finance, in dealing with activist shareholders or defending against hostile takeovers.

Lars-Gerrit Luessmann began his legal career in 2002 at Linklaters, where he worked for almost nine years in Frankfurt and Düsseldorf. In 2004/2005, he worked for J.P. Morgan AG in Frankfurt as part of a secondment. Since 2011, he has been a partner at Taylor Wessing, where he headed the Corporate / Capital Markets group in Germany. In May 2023, he opened the Frankfurt office of Gowling WLG together with other partners.

Lars-Gerrit Luessmann has been listed for many years by legal directories such as JUVE and Legal500 Germany as a 'frequently recommended lawyer for corporate law and/or M&A'. Clients praise him - among other things - for his resilience and flexibility in dealing with complex matters.
