Maria Donato is a law clerk in Gowling WLG's Ottawa office. She works in the area of health law and medical defence, including supporting lawyers acting as counsel to the Canadian Medical Protective Association and its physicians.
Maria has extensive knowledge of Rules of Procedure of various courts and administrative tribunals across Canada. Her responsibilities include reviewing legal documents with respect to health law and medical defence matters for all jurisdictions across Canada, drafting correspondence, summarizing reports, organizing, tracking and maintaining document files and case correspondence.
Before rejoining the firm in May 2010, Maria worked for Thomas C. Assaly Corporation, where she gained extensive knowledge in landlord and tenant matters. She also worked for the Department of National Defence in the Judge Advocate General’s office, and gained valuable experience earlier in her career at Gowling WLG in the areas of civil and commercial litigation.
