Mila Badran is a partner in Gowling WLG's Montréal office, where she works primarily in the areas of civil and commercial litigation.
Her practice focuses on contractual and commercial disputes and civil liability across a wide range of industries. She has gained extensive experience in the area of manufacturers’ and product liability, both in the automotive and consumer goods sectors.
Mila also frequently handles professional liability, construction and engineering matters, including with respect to major infrastructure projects and public-private partnerships. Acting on behalf of expropriated parties, she also focuses on expropriation matters involving soil decontamination and remediation as well as corporate restructuring and closures.
Mila’s experience also includes enforcing letters rogatory and gaining access to documents, evidence and assets in legal proceedings instituted in a foreign jurisdiction.
She represents her clients before Quebec’s civil and administrative tribunals and actively advises them on dispute prevention and resolution, and on minimizing legal risks and issues through the review of contractual documents.
Actively involved in her community, Mila sits on the board of directors of the Institut du Cancer de Montréal, and acts as a leader and representative of the Montreal chapter of Gowling WLG’s GROW (Gowling WLG Realizing Opportunities for Women) initiative, which promotes greater recognition and understanding of issues facing women and non-binary people in the workplace.
Mila practises law in English and French and has a working knowledge of Arabic.
