Romina Hassanzadeh is an Ottawa-based associate in Gowling WLG’s Disputes Department, where she maintains a focused advocacy practice for regulated health professionals and health-sector clients.
A strategic and pragmatic advocate, clients regularly retain Romina to navigate disputes that can affect not only a legal outcome, but also a professional reputation, licence, livelihood, and ability to continue practicing. She represents and advises clients in regulatory proceedings, professional liability matters, civil litigation, and related administrative law disputes. This includes matters involving college complaints and investigations, discipline proceedings, licensing and registration issues, and situations where professional obligations intersect with litigation risk, privacy, workplace concerns, or broader health care business operations.
Romina has appeared before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Court of Appeal for Ontario, the Health Professions Appeal and Review Board, and the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, and draws on that advocacy experience to help clients involved in parallel civil, regulatory, employment, or administrative proceedings.
Her practice also includes advising on the regulatory implications of practice growth, technology adoption, privacy incidents, and workplace disputes, as well as commercial litigation matters affecting health-sector clients.
Working closely with colleagues across Gowling WLG’s international platform—including in advocacy, health, privacy, employment, corporate, and commercial law—she helps clients address broader business and operational challenges through coordinated, practical advice.
Before joining Gowling WLG, Romina practiced with a boutique civil litigation firm in Ottawa.
