Bio
Sukhman Sangha is an articling student in Gowling WLG's Toronto office and a member of the firm’s Government Affairs group.
Sukhman completed the Juris Doctor (JD) program at Osgoode Hall Law School.
Prior to Gowling WLG, Sukhman served in multiple roles in the Ontario Government as a senior advisor to the President of the Treasury Board of Ontario, the Honourable Prabmeet Singh Sarkaria. While working at the Treasury Board Secretariat, Sukhman held multiple files advising the President on the government’s response to COVID-19, expenditure management, procurement strategy and emergency management reform.
Sukhman has also worked as an advisor at Ontario’s Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade. With a focus on small business and red tape reduction, Sukhman helped drive the province’s burden reduction strategy to make Ontario more attractive to growth and international investment in areas such as advanced manufacturing.
Sukhman’s advocacy efforts helped secure major investments in his hometown of Brampton, including the approval for the construction of a new hospital and the first medical school in the GTA in over 100 years. He is now serving as a Vice President of the Ontario PC Party and a member of its Board of Directors.
Prior to law school, Sukhman graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in political science with honours from the University of Guelph.
In his free time, Sukhman enjoys playing and watching sports. His younger brother Jasman is a Division 1 NCAA basketball player. With the Toronto Raptors winning the 2019 NBA finals, Sukhman is now focused on the Toronto Blue Jays winning a World Series championship in the very near future.
