Ulrich Reers

Ulrich Reers is a partner in the corporate team and is co-head of Capital Markets in Germany. In addition to providing corporate law advice to private and public companies, he specialises in advising issuers, financial institutions and investors on share placements and IPOs, as well as on public takeovers and M&A transactions. He has been advising on all types of share and bond issues for almost twenty years.
He has gained in-depth experience in IPOs of German companies in the Netherlands and the USA as well as in the life sciences and real estate sectors. His advice also includes issues of digital securities.
Ulrich studied law at the Universities of Münster (Germany) and Paris-X Nanterre (France), where he earned the grade Maîtrise en Droit in 1998. Ulrich began his career as a lawyer in 2003 at Buse Heberer Fromm followed by three years in the legal department of Hudson Advisors, the asset manager of Lone Star Funds specialised in distressed investments. At the beginning of 2008, he joined the corporate and capital markets team at Linklaters. During that time, he was seconded to the legal department for capital markets and M&A of Commerzbank.
Since 2011, he had been a partner in the Corporate / Capital Markets group at Taylor Wessing until he joined Gowling WLG in May 2023 and co-founded the Frankfurt office.
