Wamika Razdan

Wamika Razdan is an associate in Gowling WLG’s Waterloo Region office. She practices in the area of municipal law, with a focus on expropriation law and construction law. In her expropriation practice, Wamika represents property owners, tenants, and business owners in matters involving the acquisition of land by public authorities. In her construction law practice, she assists clients in navigating complex legal challenges, working proactively to achieve strategic resolutions on a range of construction projects.
Prior to joining Gowling WLG as an associate, Wamika summered and articled at a prominent full-service law firm in Toronto. She graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelor of Arts and a Certificate in Global Perspectives. During her undergraduate education, she participated in a Summer Abroad program at the University of Oxford, gaining an international perspective on Canadian law. She went on to earn her Juris Doctor from Queen’s University Faculty of Law and later obtained a Finance Certificate from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto.
Wamika has been extensively involved within her community throughout her academic career, participating in over 15 community and student organizations. Most notably, she conducted ethnographic research on missing and murdered Indigenous women in Canada, worked as a Caseworker at the Queen’s Business Law Clinic in Kingston, and served as a Student Director at the Conflict Analytics Lab, an AI research lab at Queen’s University. She continues her community engagement through various initiatives, including her role as an Invited Guest Speaker at institutions such as the University of Toronto and the University of Waterloo.
Wamika enjoys new learning experiences through travel and exposure to different cultures and cuisines.
