Combined team advise on a 'powerhouse' property-based partnership
A multi-disciplinary team has advised national real estate consultancy Naismiths on its merger with construction and property consultancy Edmond Shipway – a strategic partnership that is tipped to create a property 'powerhouse' by combining the capabilities of both entities.
Founded in 1963, Naismiths' 50-strong team has offices in eight cities across the UK.
Edmond Shipway has been an expert name in the industry for 60 years across various sectors, including leisure, commercial, residential, education and healthcare.
Our team provided Naismiths with advisory input from multiple perspectives, namely corporate matters, finance, real estate and tax – and lived up to the firm's excellent reputation for collaborating effectively.
The corporate team members were partner Chris Towle and Associates Rory Chatterton and Jessica Waldron. Finance advice was provided by partner Navin Prabhakar, supported by Senior Associate Rhodri Williams and Associate Kimi Shah. Finally, Sanjay Mehta (Of Counsel) provided tax advice while Senior Associate Nichola Page provided real estate input.
Commenting on the significance of the deal, Chris said:
"It has been a pleasure to bring our advisory skills to bear on such an important partnership, where the collaboration it triggers not only allows for a far greater market share but also a tool for driving more competition throughout the industry – helping to continually drive a focus on quality service provision.
With offices located in key jurisdictions around the world, we can handle projects of any size. Our professionals communicate efficiently with each other to provide timely legal services to clients who require advice from multiple locations."
