Gowling WLG has been recognised in GlobalData's latest league table results for the first three quarters of 2026.

The firm ranked 12th globally by M&A deal volume, reflecting the strength and breadth of its international mining M&A practice. The result reflects Gowling WLG's continued activity across the mining and natural resources sector, advising clients on significant transactions and projects across international markets.

Head of Capital Markets and Leader of the Natural Resources Sector (UK), Charles Bond, said:

"I'm delighted to see our mining M&A work recognised. We have long been known as leaders in the UK capital markets, and it's great to see our M&A activity getting equal recognition. We've seen a significant increase in our mining M&A activity over the past few years. High gold prices have given producers the cash and the confidence to consolidate, and demand for copper, lithium and other critical minerals is driving investment and M&A activity across international markets.

"Gowling WLG's sector-led approach means our mining team includes lawyers with real industry experience, who understand the value drivers and technical challenges unique to the sector, backed by strong international M&A and corporate finance capability. We're grateful to the clients who continue to trust us with their most significant transactions, and delighted to be recognised among such a strong peer group."

Gowling WLG's international Mining team advises clients across the full mining lifecycle, combining deep sector knowledge with international M&A and Projects capabilities to support mining companies, investors and financiers on complex, cross-border matters.
