Our Corporate Communications team, in conjunction with creative agency DRPG, has won Bronze in the ' Best engagement of an internal audience in a sponsorship programme' at the Corporate Engagement Awards 2023.

The Corporate Engagement Awards was launched in 2011 by Communicate magazine. The awards programme has grown to be the benchmark for collaborations that have excelled and push the boundaries. The Corporate Engagement Awards honours three key areas – CSR programmes, corporate sponsorships and the communication strategies around those collaborations.

The team claims the award from leading corporate communications trade publication Communicate Magazine, in recognition of its efforts to drive stakeholder engagement in Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games ("B2022") activity among the firm's people, as part of Gowling WLG's role as the Official Legal Advisers to and sponsors of B2022.

Head of Corporate Communications, Rebecca Scully, said: "The Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games was a significant project for us as a communications team and one in which we are extremely proud of the activity and results we delivered. We engaged a large number of our people to get involved with various opportunities to volunteer including baton relay participants and to soak up the atmosphere of the Games.

"To be recognised for this at the Corporate Engagement Awards 2023 is hugely rewarding and I can only say thank you to all of the team that worked on it. Looking back on the campaign and the engagement we achieved across the firm, as well as the involvement of our people and communities is absolutely fantastic. Congratulations to the other finalists."
