Charlotte Williams is an articling student in Gowling WLG’s Calgary office.
Charlotte completed her Juris Doctor at the University of Calgary, graduating on the Dean’s List, and earned a Certification in Common Law in French from the University of Ottawa. Throughout her studies, Charlotte volunteered with Student Legal Assistance and Pro Bono Students Canada, providing legal information in both French and English to a range of clients, including new immigrants to the province. Charlotte also completed an internship at Calgary’s Court of King’s Bench, where she worked closely with judges, providing legal research and writing in French.
Prior to law, Charlotte earned a Journalism BA from Concordia University, where she honed a passion for storytelling and learning across disciplines to better understand the stories she reported. Shortly after graduating, Charlotte was drawn to Vancouver’s fast-paced commercial film industry. As a production coordinator, she oversaw complex filming projects and helped start-ups and legacy brands alike bring their bright ideas to the big screen. Charlotte has previously served on the board of the Commercial Production Association of Western Canada.
Charlotte has an innate interest in people, and highly values developing strong relationships inside and outside of the workplace. After many years working in client-facing roles, Charlotte looks forward to bringing her curiosity and relentless work ethic to her advocacy work with Gowling WLG. Charlotte is especially interested in litigation, including medical malpractice. In her time off, Charlotte loves to scour Facebook Marketplace for antique furniture and spend time dawdling in the garden.
