Harman Bains

Harman Bains is the director of legal talent for Gowling WLG’s Professional Liability and Intellectual Property departments, where she is responsible for managing professional development, recruitment, performance management, mentorship and review processes for the departments’ legal talent.
She is also actively involved in the student recruitment for the firm’s Vancouver office alongside the Student Recruitment Committee and serves as co-chair of Vancouver’s Momentum Committee, whose mandate is to develop, implement and advance the firm’s equity, respect and belonging strategy.
An experienced corporate lawyer, Harman began her legal career at Gowling WLG as a summer student, articling student and later as an associate. This progression gives her first-hand insight into what is required to create and sustain an environment in which students and associates can thrive.
She earned her law degree from Thompson Rivers University and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of British Columbia.
