
Bio
Jordan Shear is a summer law student in Gowling WLG's Toronto office.
Jordan is currently completing his Canadian and American juris doctor at University of Windsor and University of Detroit Mercy.
Jordan has remained an active member of his law school community serving as a Senior Caseworker at Windsor’s Community Legal Aid, a mentor to first-year law students through the Peer Mentorship Program and has participated and assisted in a variety of moot court competitions. Jordan is also the incoming President of Windsor’s Jewish Students Association for the 2025-26 academic year.
He has received several awards for academic excellence, including awards for the highest academic standing in CDN & US Professional Responsibility, and Cross Border Sales & Financial Transactions I.
Prior to law school, Jordan obtained a Bachelor of Arts in economics with honours from Queen’s University, where he assumed various leadership roles, including serving as Co-Chair of the Queen’s Entrepreneurship and Innovation Conference.
Jordan is passionate about entrepreneurship and has experience starting both B2B and DTC companies. Jordan’s experiences building ventures is what sparked his interest in corporate law. He aims to help business owners navigate complex issues and seize opportunities at each stage of their growth cycle.
Jordan will focus his summer in the firm's Business Law Group with a particular interest in Corporate Finance, Restructuring and Insolvency, Tax, M&A and Technology.
Outside of work, Jordan enjoys spending time outdoors and doing the things he loves, like golf, snowboarding, photography, listening to live music and exploring new food spots.
