Kate Robards helps clients to resolve disputes quickly and commercially.
Kate has the benefit of experience of working for a range of clients in investigating failed businesses and acting for both claimants and defendants in insolvency and general commercial disputes. She also has extensive experience in pursuing director disqualification actions.
Kate is also a member of Gowling WLG's Public Inquiries and Investigations team with extensive experience of working alongside government departments and other public bodies, such as compensation authorities. She plays a central role in supporting core participants to public inquiries throughout all stages of a major public inquiry, providing comprehensive assistance including across disclosure and evidence review. In addition to public inquiries, Kate has wide experience of supporting staff in related work, such as investigations.
Kate's work involves project managing and running large teams of lawyers and paralegals analysing large volumes of documentary material, liaising with inquiry teams and counsel, drafting reports, and ensuring that the client's interests are effectively represented in a complex and high-profile investigatory contexts. Kate brings a meticulous and methodical approach to managing sensitive material and navigating the procedural and reputational challenges that inquiries present.
