Keanna is an associate member of Gowling's Public Inquiries and Investigations team with significant experience of working alongside a government department in a major public inquiry. Keanna has significant experience supporting a range of witnesses (some of whom are Core Participants) through complex and sensitive inquiry proceedings. She advises on all aspects of witness participation, from preparing and reviewing evidence to coordinating attendance at hearings. She has worked closely with leading counsel and Government Legal Department legal teams to manage disclosure, leading paralegal teams, drafting Rule 9 responses, and preparing evidence in response to the Inquiry Team's requests.
With a good understanding of the procedural and reputational challenges that inquiries present, Keanna has been praised by the Counsel she works with for her hard working and thorough approach to ensuring witnesses are fully prepared and supported. She supports Counsel and combines careful analysis of complex factual material with an appreciation of the broader institutional and political context in which inquiries operate. Keanna is experienced in managing complex material, supporting vulnerable witnesses and liaising with inquiry teams to ensure the smooth progression of evidence and hearings.
Keanna also has extensive experience acting for financial institutions and companies at all stages of High Court litigation and international complex investigations and disputes. She has worked on all aspects of case management, such as witness interviews, drafting advice notes and correspondence, preparing witness statements, leading on disclosure document review and corresponding with relevant financial authorities, parties and the Court. Additionally, Keanna has been a part of legal teams representing high-net-worth individuals and investment banks. Keanna works hard to support her clients, contributes positively to every team, and takes pride in delivering high quality work.
