
Bio
Lauren Weissenborn is a summer student based in Gowling WLG's Calgary office. She is currently a juris doctor candidate at the University of Calgary. Lauren holds a bachelor of science in psychology and a certificate in law from Queen’s University, bringing a client-centred perspective and insight into decision-making in complex legal contexts.
Lauren has gained early legal experience in London, England, assisting in the establishment of a charitable health-focused organization. She contributed to drafting sponsorship agreements and internal policies, developing an appreciation for how law can support innovation and organizational growth.
During her undergraduate studies, Lauren worked as a teaching assistant for psychology and statistics courses, leading large student groups and translating complex concepts into clear, accessible information, skills she applies to ensure clients feel informed and confident in their legal decisions.
Lauren is committed to community involvement through volunteer figure skating coaching, where she has developed mentorship and leadership skills. Her dedication and discipline are reflected in her own skating journey, which she has pursued alongside her academic achievements.
Lauren is particularly interested in medical defence and health law, and she is passionate about helping clients navigate important decisions with clarity and confidence. She is drawn to legal practice for its combination of analytical rigour and meaningful client relationships.
