Larisa Albu is a partner in Gowling WLG's Montréal office and member of the firm's Corporate Commercial Law Group. Her practice is mainly focused on financial services, which include but are not limited to real estate financing, asset-based loans and lease financing.
In her practice, Larisa assists the firm's clients – both domestic and international – of various sizes and from various industries in local and cross-border financing transactions on a daily basis. Whether they are lenders (institutional or private) or borrowers, she assists them in the negotiation of the terms and conditions of the financing, the drafting of offers or financing agreements, and in other areas, including the establishment of securities and other agreements depending on the type of financing. Larisa is also called upon to draft various opinions required in connection with the implementation of the financing or in the context of debt reorganization.
Larisa also assists foreign companies in their entry into the Canadian and local markets, and ensures that their activities comply with Canadian and local enforcement laws.
Larisa believes that understanding her clients' perspectives and positioning on the market, anticipating what's at stake and finding practical solutions are all equally important when it comes to handling a transaction.
