
Bio
Nicole Furlan is an articling student in Gowling WLG’s Calgary office.
Nicole has just completed her JD at the University of Calgary after transferring from Western University.
Prior to law school, Nicole completed a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience with a minor in Philosophy. Nicole completed an undergraduate thesis in philosophy. She also studied the effects of differing severities of colitis on executive functioning as well the impact of paternal preconception nicotine exposure on mice and rats.
At the University of Calgary, Nicole was the co-president of the Runnymede Society, a volunteer caseworker with Student Legal Assistance, and was involved in the university’s choir.
During her studies, Nicole spearheaded a successful volunteering organization and has worked extensively as a child and youth-care counsellor at Hull Services. She also worked as an actress or model on various TV, movie, and commercial sets. She has volunteered with the Humane Society, Family Centre, Soup Kitchen, and a Senior Citizens Organization. Outside of her academic career, Nicole’s hobbies include singing, motorcycling, and playing with her one-year-old dog.
