Lorne Rollheiser appointed as head of Gowling WLG's Canadian Oil & Gas Group
Gowling WLG is pleased to announce the appointment of Calgary-based partner Lorne Rollheiser as head of its Canadian Oil & Gas Group.
Recognized by Legal 500 and Best Lawyers in Canada as a leader in his field, Rollheiser has over 20 years of experience practising in natural resources and energy law — including as in-house counsel with two of North America's largest independent oil and gas producers. Working closely with domestic and international exploration and production clients, he focuses his practice on a range of complex energy-related matters associated with the planning, development, and execution of upstream and midstream projects.
In his new role, Rollheiser will lead the team in expanding and strengthening the firm's oil & gas practice across Canada. "In recent years, we've seen new areas emerging in the energy sector, including hydrogen and geothermal energy, as well as a focus on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors that have all had a huge impact on oil and gas companies," said Rollheiser. "Our team is well-positioned to help our clients navigate these new opportunities and provide them with the innovative long-term solutions essential to the growth and success of their business."
