CEO, Rigby Group (RG) plc: "We knew this project would be complex given it involved a sale of business spanning numerous countries, a carve-out, a reinvestment and regulatory approval. Our previous experience with Ragi and the wider Gowling WLG team meant we were confident they had the expertise and resources to deliver in all respects against a challenging timetable. This, combined with the strategic importance of this sale, meant they were a natural choice for us."
General Counsel and Company Secretary, Halfords plc: "Gowling WLG was a natural choice for this transaction, given their knowledge of the sector, specialist Property M&A team and the level of resource they were able to call upon to ensure we completed the transaction as quickly and efficiently as possible. The business and I valued the fact that they genuinely advised us – across a broad range of, sometimes complex, issues - and demonstrated a balanced attitude to risk within the context of us being a listed company. My colleagues and I look forward to working with Ragi and the Gowling WLG team again."
Founder, JMAN: "Given the importance of this investment to us, we went through an exhaustive process to appoint the right adviser team. In particular, we knew we needed lawyers who had the ability to handle a complex pre-sale cross-border reorganisation, management incentive plan, deep experience of the issues arising from having an Indian business, and the bandwidth and skillset to negotiate with multiple domestic and international PE bidders. In Ragi and his team, we found exactly what we needed and more. It is not an exaggeration to say their prompt, clear and constructive advice, and seemingly indefatigable stamina, were absolutely key to us successfully closing this investment. Gowling WLG has become our trusted advisor."
Group Legal Counsel, TT Electronics plc: "Ragi was a huge draw in us instructing Gowling WLG, and his legal and commercial knowledge is "stand out". Ragi spots issues that are outside of his remit and flags them. When the team works with Ragi we get a good feeling that everything is under control."
