Bio
Arielle Girard is an articling student in Gowling WLG’s Ottawa office, focusing her work with the Advocacy Group.
Arielle graduated from the University of Ottawa’s French Common Law Program. During he studies, Arielle was involved in numerous extracurricular activities, including the Social Justice Society, the Equality Law Clinic, and the Common Law Student Society (VP French). She was a student caseworker with the University of Ottawa Community Legal Clinic in the Community Legal Education division. Arielle also worked at the Supreme Court of Canada, both as a tour guide and a research assistant.
Prior to entering law school, Arielle obtained her Honours Bachelor’s in International Development and Globalization from the University of Ottawa. During her undergraduate studies, she participated in a field research course in Northern Ireland that focused on the impact of decentralized governments on public policies. Arielle also worked in the public sector with Veteran’s Affairs Canada and the Medical Health Branch of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.
