
Bio
Claire-Xi Song is a summer law student at Gowling WLG's Vancouver office.
She is a second-year law student at Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia. She has a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering and a background in software development and cyber security and privacy consulting. Claire hopes to apply her prior technical knowledge to the field of intellectual property law. After starting law school, she worked as a review officer at WorkSafeBC, issuing numerous published decisions on Workers' Compensation matters.
As a law student, she has been actively involved in the legal community in her work as a clinician for the Law Students' Legal Advice Program. She also volunteers with the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers BC to create podcasts highlighting the unique and diverse members of the legal community. Claire also deepened her understanding of competition law this past year while representing the University of British Columbia at the Adam F. Fanaki Competition Law Moot.
