Bio
Miles Hunter is a summer law student in Gowling WLG's Calgary office.
Miles is currently pursuing a Juris Doctor at the University of Saskatchewan. Before law school, Miles studied Law and Society at the University of Calgary, where he was accepted early into the JD program. During his time there, Miles was also a dedicated student-athlete, competing as a starting member of the University of Calgary's Varsity Men's Tennis Team and earning the U-SPORT Academic All-Canadian distinction.
Beyond academics and athletics, Miles brings a range of experience. Miles worked with the Canadian Constitution Foundation, where he contributed to a forthcoming publication on press freedom. In 2024, Miles was selected as one of nine Summer Fellows with the Institute for Liberal Studies - an opportunity that deepened his interest in public policy and legal philosophy. Miles has also taught tennis and held roles at several Calgary-based organizations, including Athennian, Beakerhead and Earls Tin Palace, where he developed strong interpersonal and team-based skills.
Miles' passion for the legal profession stems from a longstanding desire to solve complex problems while working directly with people. He is particularly drawn to areas such as commercial litigation and medical malpractice, but remains open to exploring a wide range of legal opportunities.
