He also holds a Master of Arts in International Affairs from Carleton University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts with honours in Political Science from the University of Calgary.
In Mischa's first year of law school, he served as volunteer editor with the Canadian Journal of Commercial Arbitration (CJCA) while also working for Global Affairs Canada (GAC) as a federal trade commissioner for interactive digital media. During this time, Mischa drafted GAC's first-ever guidance on the Canadian video games industry, including a field visit to the Montreal International Games Summit. At the end of his first year, he placed on the Dean's Honour List, and has since become senior associate editor with the CJCA.
Before law school, Mischa worked at Global Affairs Canada for several years on high-profile files, including serving as senior threat analyst for Eastern Europe. In this role, he was responsible for responding to international crises, traveling to diplomatic premises overseas and frequently briefing management in dynamic situations with non-negotiable deadlines.
Mischa is interested in corporate and commercial law. His experience in the public service has made him highly client-focused and attentive to detail, ensuring that decision-makers receive advice that is timely, tailored and responsive.
In his spare time, Mischa enjoys hiking, reading and trying new recipes.
