Sebastian Cooper is an associate in Gowling WLG’s Ottawa office, practicing in the Advocacy Department. He maintains a broad civil litigation practice, with a rapidly evolving breadth of experience in public law, construction law, and lobbying and election law.
Prior to joining the firm, Sebastian clerked for two justices of the British Columbia Court of Appeal, where he gained experience in appellate advocacy and litigation. Sebastian also worked on Parliament Hill as a policy and parliamentary affairs advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and as a special assistant to the Minister of Justice and Attorney General.
Sebastian obtained his Juris Doctor from the Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia. During his studies, he worked as a research assistant, participated in student and university governance and received prizes for academic achievement and community involvement. He won the 2021 National Labour Arbitration Moot.
