Ting-Yu Liao

Ting-Yu Liao is a patent agent trainee in Gowling WLG’s Ottawa office, practising in the Intellectual Property Group. Ting assists with drafting and prosecuting patent applications.

Prior to joining Gowling WLG, Ting was a patent engineer at a leading intellectual property law firm in Taiwan for eight years. He focused on drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the United States, specializing in semiconductor manufacturing, metallurgy, inorganic chemistry, nanotechnology, automotive technology, clean technology, robotics, mechanical devices, and medical devices.

Ting also previously worked as a process support engineer in the semiconductor manufacturing equipment industry, focusing on thin film deposition technology.

Ting is fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese.
