Gowling WLG was previously involved in a class action brought on behalf of about 15,000 Canadian veterans who experienced claw-backs related to their disability pension benefits.

Recently, Gowling WLG, again in collaboration with Michel Drapeau Law Office and other firms, has become involved in another class action addressing short payments to Canadian veterans. The case involves an accounting error in the calculation of disability awards and pensions payable to Canadian Forces and RCMP veterans by Veterans Affairs Canada.  We believe all 15,000 veterans who were part of the Toth class proceeding are also members of the proposed class in the new veterans reimbursement proceeding.

We are grateful for another opportunity to represent Canadian veterans and their families.

The new veterans reimbursement class action was commenced on January 18, 2019 and names, as representative plaintiffs, two Canadian Forces and one RCMP veteran.
