Gowling WLG's pension team has been appointed as the legal advisers to the trustees of the Trafalgar House Pension Trust
Gowling WLG's pension team has been appointed as the legal advisers to the trustees of the £1.8 billion asset Trafalgar House Pension Trust.
The Trust has 20,000 members and a complex and varied benefit structure reflecting the corporate history of the original sponsor group. Since a deal struck with the Pensions Regulator in 2006, the Trust has operated without its original scheme employers.
The appointment, which followed a competitive tender process, involves advising the trustee on various pension matters including ongoing compliance with regulations and legal changes, member queries, and investment issues.
Garry Wake, Secretary to the Trustee, said: "The Gowling team delivered a strong proposal and demonstrated a high level of aptitude, added value and enthusiasm to work with the trustee throughout the entire selection process."
Jason Coates, Head of Pensions at Gowling WLG, said: "We are extremely proud to have been appointed as the legal adviser to the trustee of the Trafalgar House Pension Trust. We very much look forward to working with the trustee board and its support team. This opportunity builds on our strong track record of delivering high quality legal services to pension trustees".
The successful Gowling WLG team was Jason Coates, Maddy Frost, Mary Verity and Helena David.
