Gowling WLG is pleased to announce Heather Jones has joined its Commercial Litigation Group as a partner in Vancouver.

Heather focuses her practice on complex corporate and commercial litigation matters, as well as construction and real estate litigation.

Heather has broad experience representing clients in shareholder disputes and contract disputes, as well as in matters concerning officer and director liability, international fraud, fiduciary duty, governance, the purchase and sale of businesses, international fraud, negligence claims and employment.

Her work in the construction and real estate areas encompass builder's liens, lease issues, expropriations, zoning conflicts, land use and construction damage liability, and strata matters. Over the course of her career, she has appeared before all levels of court.

Heather is deeply committed to giving back to the legal community and regularly mentors young lawyers – including through the Canadian Bar Association's Women's Legal Forum and other programs.

"Harnessing extensive sector knowledge, Heather approaches disputes with pragmatism, determination and deep understanding of her clients' commercial objectives – both in the short and long term," said Brent Kerr, managing partner of Gowling WLG's Vancouver office. "As our Vancouver office continues to grow, she promises to be an excellent addition to our team."
