Amine Bakas

Amine Bakas is the national director of legal talent for Gowling WLG’s Specialized Practices. In this role, he is responsible for managing and implementing professional development, mentoring, engagement and retention initiatives for the firm’s associates and students. He also facilitates a balanced distribution of workload, provides professional coaching and performance feedback, and supervises training programs.

Prior to joining Gowling WLG, Amine served as business partner, legal professional management, at a national firm, supporting partners in their various leadership, talent development and performance management responsibilities.

Earlier in his career, Amine practised as a private lawyer focusing on labour and employment law, where he advised employers and managers from various industries on the day-to-day management of labour relations, handled arbitration cases and negotiated collective agreements. His background in human resources has provided him with a strong foundation in talent management and strategic recruitment.
