Caitlin Milne is an associate in Gowling WLG’s Calgary office, practising in the area of commercial litigation.
Caitlin has broad experience advising and representing shareholders, officers, and directors of public and private corporations in shareholder disputes and matters involving director and officer liability. She is also experienced in representing clients involved in contract disputes, matters relating to municipal law, and class actions.
She has further experience prosecuting and defending professional disciplinary matters, as well as in criminal defence. Caitlin has a particular interest in public and administrative law and Aboriginal law.
She previously practised in Toronto, where she appeared at all levels of Ontario Court and before the Supreme Court of Canada, as well as in administrative proceedings. She has also represented clients in alternative dispute resolution, including in private arbitrations and mediations.
Prior to joining Gowling WLG, Caitlin summered and articled at a large Bay Street firm, and practised at a boutique Toronto litigation firm. Before attending law school, Caitlin obtained degrees in Mechanical Engineering and International Relations from the University of Calgary and worked as an engineer in training.
In 2024, Caitlin became an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
