Ed Brown

Ed is a funds specialist leading the funds and financial services practice in the Gowling WLG Dubai and Abu Dhabi offices. He has a broad range of finance experience with a particular background and focus on financial services regulation, funds, capital markets and listing advice and compliance. With over 10 years of experience in the UAE, Ed has been advising on investment fund establishment and compliance (including UAE, DIFC and ADGM domiciled funds and cross-jurisdictional fund structures), banking and financial services regulation, compliance and set-ups.

Ed was previously a senior associate at laws firms in Dubai and in New Zealand. He also served as in-house counsel and within the regulatory team at the New Zealand stock exchange.

Ed is named a 'Rising Star' in The Legal 500 2022 publication.
