Fereidoon Tavassoli is a summer law student in Gowling WLG's Calgary office.
As a JD candidate at the University of Calgary, Fereidoon brings a multidisciplinary foundation to his legal studies with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Master of Public Policy. In law school, Fereidoon has actively contributed to the legal community by taking on clients facing criminal charges through Student Legal Assistance. Fereidoon's commitment to service also extends beyond campus - as he has volunteered extensively on crisis lines, mentored at-risk youth, and supported various community health and animal rescue initiatives.
Professionally, Fereidoon has worked in diverse roles including work as a research assistant, crisis line supervisor, property manager, and marketing coordinator. These positions have strengthened his interpersonal, problem-solving, and project-management skills. In parallel, Fereidoon's entrepreneurial work in filmmaking and advertising has helped him refine client-facing communications and the ability to lead diverse teams in high-stakes environments.
Fereidoon's passion for law stems from its ability to solve real problems and empower people. He is driven by the challenge of navigating complex issues and crafting solutions that make a tangible difference.
Outside of law, Fereidoon is an avid filmmaker and film enthusiast, a martial artist with a second-degree black belt in Taekwondo, and a fashion and coffee admirer always in pursuit of the perfect espresso shot.
