Genevieve Simmons

Genevieve Simmons is an associate in the Business Law Group at Gowling WLG, based in the firm’s Toronto office. Her practice focuses primarily on mergers and acquisitions, securities, and transactions involving technology, startups, and digital assets.
Before joining as an associate, Genevieve gained experience as a summer and articling student in the firm’s Toronto and Calgary offices.
She earned her law degree from the University of Toronto, where she contributed to research on gamification regulation and supported FinTech founders as a legal extern. She also holds a Bachelor of Commerce with distinction from the University of Victoria and completed a two-year rotational program at Scotiabank, where she was named valedictorian of her cohort.
Genevieve applies her experience in business and technology to her corporate law practice, bringing a strategic, forward-looking approach to advising clients on complex corporate and transactional matters.
