Bio

Georgia is a Principal Associate in the Commercial Litigation team, advising corporates, private individuals, investors, shareholders and insolvency practitioners on a broad range of complex commercial disputes.

Georgia has particular experience in disputes arising from supply chain disruption, post M&A transactions, shareholder and corporate governance disputes, fraud and insolvency litigation. Her practice also includes a range of sectors, including automotive, aviation, and advanced manufacturing.

Georgia is experienced in handling high-value and business-critical disputes before the High Court, Court of Appeal and in international arbitration and she focuses on providing clear, commercial and pragmatic advice, helping clients manage risk and resolve disputes efficiently while minimising disruption to their business.

Georgia also supports a number of the firm's pro bono initiatives, including working with the Death Penalty Project in assisting individuals obtain free legal advice in respect of potentially unsafe convictions.

Experience

Acting for fund investment advisors and various entities on a number of disputes arising out of or related to private equity funded acquisitions.
Acting for the majority shareholders of five companies in successfully defending unfair prejudice claims in excess of £30 million and just and equitable winding up.
Acting for both founder shareholders and incoming investor shareholders regarding disputes arising out of shareholder agreements, governance arrangements and exit processes.
Acting for an automotive client in an LCIA arbitration regarding substantial sums owed under a dealership agreement.
Successfully seeking injunctive relief on an urgent basis to secure continued supply of business critical parts for an automotive client in relation to a dispute with a Tier 1 supplier.
Acting for an aviation client in respect of the detention of aircraft under the Civil Aviation Act.
Defending proceedings in respect of sums owed in relation to aviation services, involving claims across multiple jurisdictions.
Advising in relation to disputes under complex defence equipment supply agreements.
Acting for Transworld Payment Solutions Limited (in liquidation) and its liquidator in relation to a c.£300 million fraud claim against First Curacao International Bank and Mr Duess. The case involved complex claims for fraud, dishonest assistance, fraudulent trading and breach of fiduciary duties and culminated in a two-month trial.
Successfully defending two former directors in a multi-party action, involving a four week trial and claims of £35 million for breach of fiduciary duty, transactions to defraud creditors and conspiracy to cause loss by unlawful means.
Defending three partners against claims for breach of duty and partnership dissolution of a £30 million business, including numerous interim injunctions and appeals to the Court of Appeal.
Successfully defending a committal application and securing, on Appeal to the Court of Appeal, the recovery of indemnity costs
Successfully defending a respondent (including in the Court of Appeal) against a winding up order and freezing order sought by a provisional liquidator arising out of an alleged £50 million Ponzi scheme.
Advising an Applicant company seeking to recover £1.2 million in unsecured loans, resulting in a contested administration application involving issues of standing and equitable assignment of debt.
Acting for the liquidator in a multi-million pound claim over MTIC fraud within the supply chain of companies involved in the retail sector.
