Graham Reeder is an associate in Gowling WLG's Environmental Law Group. His work focuses on environmental, land use, energy, and Indigenous law, with particular experience in complex regulatory proceedings involving major infrastructure and resource development projects.
Graham regularly advises and represents municipalities, Indigenous communities, and the private sector in matters before federal and provincial decision makers, including administrative tribunals and regulatory authorities. His practice includes environmental assessment processes, Crown consultation and accommodation, and issues arising at the intersection of project development, environmental impacts, and Indigenous rights.
In addition to his regulatory work, Graham is experienced with appellate and judicial review proceedings. He has appeared before the Federal Court, Federal Court of Appeal, Superior Court of Ontario, Divisional Court, and the Ontario Court of Appeal. He has also appeared before, among others, the Ontario Land Tribunal, the Canada Energy Regulator, the Alberta Utilities Commission, and Joint Review Panels established under the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act, 2012. He is known for his careful legal analysis, strong written and oral advocacy, and pragmatic, detail oriented approach to complex files.
Graham works closely with clients, technical experts, and multidisciplinary legal teams to deliver clear, strategic advice tailored to the legal, regulatory, and community context of each matter.
