Karina Labelle

Karina Labelle is an associate in Gowling WLG's Infrastructure and Construction Group. Based in Vancouver, her practice spans all aspects of structuring, tendering, negotiating, drafting, reviewing, and interpreting construction contracts, in all stages of the project lifecycle under a variety of project delivery models.
She also advises on construction/builders' liens and assists clients with resolving commercial disputes through negotiation and interim adjudication (in provinces where adjudication is mandated by legislation, such as in Ontario and Alberta). Karina acts for a wide range of industry stakeholders, including owners, developers, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants (engineers and architects), and manufacturers.
Drawing on her background as a litigator, Karina helps clients anticipate risks and sidestep common disputes with confidence. Clients and colleagues alike appreciate her analytical mindset, practical guidance and unwavering dedication to getting results.
Karina is an active member of trade and industry associations, including the Ottawa Construction Association, the Canadian Construction Association, the Vancouver Construction Association, and the British Column Construction Association. Karina regularly publishes on construction law and infrastructure topics in Canada.
Karina is fluently bilingual in English and French, and practises in both languages. Outside of her practice, Karina enjoys the outdoors and engages in activities such as hiking, camping, skiing and snowboarding as well as a team sports including hockey and volleyball.
