
Bio
Nawal Sassi is an articling student in Gowling WLG's Montréal office.
She is also pursuing a master’s degree in information technology law at the Université de Montréal, where her research focuses on data portability and liability issues in the context of open banking in Canada.
During her studies, Nawal was actively involved with Pro Bono Students Canada at the Côte-des-Neiges Social Pediatrics Centre. This commitment earned her the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Richard Wagner Award for her leadership and contribution to access to justice.
She also completed an internship with Option consommateurs, where she conducted research in consumer law and contributed to work on issues including the liability of digital platforms. More broadly, she is interested in legal issues related to technological innovation, data governance, and the protection of personal information.
