Sebastian Ennis-Brown is an associate in Gowling WLG’s Vancouver office and a member of the firm’s Environmental Law and Indigenous Law practice groups. He regularly advises and represents clients on a variety of environmental, natural resource, and Indigenous law issues, including:
Sebastian is nationally recognized as an “Associate to Watch” for environmental law matters in Chambers Canada since 2023.
He currently serves as Vice-Chair of the CBABC Natural Resource Law Section and Professional Development Officer of the CBA Environmental, Energy and Resources Law Section. He is the past Chair of the CBABC Environmental Law Section.
Sebastian clerked for judges of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice (Toronto) and the Nova Scotia Court of Appeal before gaining experience in public law, constitutional law, Aboriginal law and white-collar criminal defence. Prior to joining Gowling WLG, he worked at a leading boutique environmental law firm.
His past volunteer work includes serving as a board member of an international human rights non-profit, a researcher for the UN Human Rights Committee and a founding member of the CBABC’s Indigenous Justice Advocacy Committee.
He is an editor of Gowling WLG’s Indigenous Law newsletter.
